Poco C51

Competing against smartphones such as the Lava Yuva 2 Pro and Moto E13, the Poco C51 brings a compelling package to the table. In this review, we delve into its design, software, performance, battery life, and camera capabilities to determine if it’s worth considering.

Poco C51 Design & Build Quality

Unlike many entry-level smartphones, the Poco C51 surprises with its impressive design and build quality. With a comfortable grip and a well-distributed weight, it doesn’t feel heavy in the hand despite weighing 192g. The polycarbonate back panel with a grainy texture enhances the overall feel.

The phone features a small camera module on the back, a waterdrop-style notch on the front, and thick bezels surrounding the display. The placement of buttons and the fingerprint sensor is convenient, making it user-friendly.

Poco C51 Display & Software

The Poco C51 sports a 6.52-inch LCD display with an HD+ resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. While the display isn’t particularly crisp, it offers above-average quality for its segment. Colors appear slightly dull, and there’s no option to adjust them.

However, the display’s peak brightness of 400 nits ensures good visibility even under direct sunlight. The phone runs on Android 14 Go Edition, delivering a clean and basic software experience. While lacking advanced customization options, the interface performs well, surpassing some mid-range and premium smartphones from Poco.

Poco C51 Performance & Battery Life

Equipped with a MediaTek Helio G36 SoC and running Android 13 Go Edition, the Poco C51 delivers a somewhat underwhelming performance. Normal usage reveals noticeable lag and slows app loading times. Benchmark scores are modest,

But the phone struggles with load times and occasional minor lag during gaming, even at the lowest graphics settings. However, simpler games run smoothly. On the bright side, the Poco C51 boasts a substantial 5,000mAh battery, offering up to two days of usage with medium to light usage.

Our HD video loop test, lasted an impressive 15 hours and 13 minutes. However, the device supports only 10W charging, resulting in longer charging times.

Poco C51 Camera Capabilities

The Poco C51 features an 8-megapixel main camera and a VGA depth sensor on the rear. Under good lighting conditions, the main camera captures average-looking photos, though colors may appear dull or overexposed. HDR performance is inconsistent,

But most photos are suitable for social media without extensive edits. However, the depth sensor’s contribution to portrait mode is limited, resulting in either negligible bokeh or overexposed backgrounds. Low-light photography struggles, with blurry images lacking detail.

The 5-megapixel front camera performs decently in daylight, but edge detection in portrait mode is poor, and low-light photography is noisy and lacks detail.
